The Udhiyah (Qurbani) is an act of worship performed on the days of Eid al-Adha (10th, 11th, and 12th of Dhul-Hijjah) following the example of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). It commemorates his willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail in obedience to Allah’s command. This ritual symbolizes submission to Allah and sharing blessings with the less fortunate.
Aqiqah is the Islamic tradition of sacrificing an animal on the occasion of a child’s birth. It is a form of gratitude to Allah for the gift of a child. Typically, two sheep or goats are sacrificed for a boy and one for a girl. The meat is distributed among family, friends, and the needy, promoting community sharing and thankfulness.
Nazr is a vow made to Allah to perform a Qurbani if a certain wish is fulfilled. Once the wish is granted, the vow becomes obligatory. This sacrifice is performed as an expression of gratitude and fulfillment of a promise to Allah. It demonstrates faithfulness and thankfulness for Allah’s blessings and answered prayers.
Voluntary Qurbani performed outside of Eid days to seek additional rewards from Allah and help those in need. This act of worship is not obligatory but is highly recommended for gaining spiritual benefits and helping the less fortunate. It can be performed at any time of the year with the intention of drawing closer to Allah.
KORBAN AFRICA adheres to the highest standards of Islamic compliance and international food safety regulations to ensure every Qurbani is performed according to Shariah principles with utmost hygiene and quality control from our Namibia facilities.
